Mike’s great new book is perhaps one of the easiest reads I’ve had in a long time on the subject of Life enhancement – and believe me, I’ve read a lot! The trouble with most books on this subject is that they usually contain in excess of 300 pages, which, when you’re busy can take an age to read and digest.

So all together I thought I was from my gasoline about 4 miles and then after driving off on my dashboard the gauge indicated that I had gasoline for 41 miles range, then I noticed that the town where I wanted to put gas was 23 miles away and I said, oh well, I should be able to make it my gauge said I had gas for 41 miles and town was 23 miles away but guess what? I ran out of gas at exactly 3 miles away from a gas station and 7 miles away from where I really wanted to put gas in the first place.

Lesson here; don’t run out of gas, never wait till next town when you can put gas where you are at, specially if you know the area, I have been going thru that road at least every two weeks for the last 23 years every time I go down to México and still ran out of gas, embarrassing! Then I had to call a shop service that is located 7 miles away from where I was down, they brought 5 gallons of gasoline for $55.00 USD and I had to pay it, they had the premium product that I needed and I had to pay a premium price for it. Just think that the price of gasoline now averages $2.49 USD and I paid $11.00 PER GALLON! Over 300% more than the regular price.

At first I thought it was funny because I’m what you might call a perfectionist, I have never lost my truck key’s, I know where I have all my tools, I know where everything that I need is, where I put everything that I use and so on and me running out of gas is actually ridiculous. It cost me more money for not paying attention to the signals and for trusting my 2008 pick up high technology gas gauge without ever trying it first, I guess I should have carried a gasoline container to test it the first time I went on a long drive just to verify the accuracy of the gauge and then to make the possibility of running out of gas null and void.

I have included two pics, (my wife had a good time laughing at me for this incident) one of me waiting in the 104 Fahrenheit Texas heat under an umbrella and another one showing how close I was from a gas station but far away to walk on that heat (3 miles away). Yeah! I know I’m overweight but I can assure you that I’m working hard on it, anyway my premium product got delivered and a premium pay exchanged hands. At least I know that I can’t trust the gauge anymore.

P.S. I’m wondering, what if I put a shop in the middle of the road, would it be there more people like me running out of gas? It can be a killer making money but, I haven’t seen one on the side of the road for a long time.
