The 0.50 cents that helped me to get home.

If you are thirsty and have 0.50 cents to buy a drink, drink water and those 0.50 cents could help you on something else, you may think that 0.50 cents are nothing but I can tell you that depending circumstances 0.50 cents can be a life changing sometimes even being so small quantity of money it can help.

(This is a personal true story) One day coming to Houston Texas from Mexico I was running out of gasoline and only had one dollar bill at 2-3 o’clock in the morning with a 3 year old daughter a pregnant wife no a/c on my car and then, not knowing the city of Houston at all (My first time in the states) I got lost taking the wrong exit from the freeway, not knowing the language I got confused with the words of Downtown when I was looking for Baytown exit.

It took me 0.50 cents to make couple phone calls at that time of morning, waking up people that I didn’t knew but were my mother friends (My mom didn’t had phone at the time) anyway, those people were able to talk to a security guard on a grocery store (I couldn’t communicate with him since at that time I couldn’t speak English at all) the guard talked to a couple customers that came to buy beer at that time of the morning! To help and guide me to the entrance of the highway.

Before that while we were there waiting my little daughter came awake and being a little girl she wanted something to drink, I could have bought here a soda but then we would have to wait another 4-8 hours to daylight and hope that my mom friends would tell her where we were and get help, I had to convince my little one to please drink some water with the promise that I will buy her a soda next day and with those 0.50 cents I bought gasoline and thus helped me get home.

Gasoline was cheaper back on those days (20 years ago) but still now 0.50 cents can help on a lot of ways, so if you can save 0.50 cents and put it to some good use you may come up with something good for you, here is a sad part on this chapter in my life, the people who the guard talked to give us help when after leaving the store they stop on front of me demanding money for the help, money that I didn’t had but I did had a small tool box and they took it as a fee for the help I was delighted when I took the highway again and finally made it to my mom home, 0.50 cents made the difference that day of having to wait or keep going the next few miles.

This post is to let you know that I came to the states and barely made it to my mom home with cero money and I have been able to succeed in a strange country with a strange language, hard time we had no doubt about it but it has been fruitful after all, think wisely on your expenses and you will see that 0.50 cents would help you one day.

I’m also about to get my other product thru the masterclass, it’s just awesome how everything can be accomplished with more free time (I was layoff from work:~) I’m still learning as we go and there may be some dificulties on the road but I can just go around them or kick them off my way. I have to say something else before I go and take the rest of the day off, I used to be skeptical when anybody said that I can write, and yes! that includes Johns saying “If I can do it, you can do it” my apologies ti John for being skeptical at some times but he has prove that it can be done, I had three writings already and plan on getting some more, small work maybe but I got them done, one can be found here and another one here the other I’m still working on it and as soon as it’s finish I will be bragging, I mean talkin about it here, now I will go and rest for the weekend:~)

I had to write a quick post about this Lady, Susan Boyle, WOW! what a voice, I have a friend in Mexico that sent me an e-mail with a link to you tube video, and I’m sharing it with you, It’s inspiring how talent can be hidden sometimes for long or wasn’t discovered because of the looks, somebody said somewhere, never judge a book by the cover, read it and then make your judgment, when watching the video just look at the judges and people faces when she said how famous she wanted to be and that same faces again when she started singing, Angelical voice I would say if I must make an appropriate remark, go and watch it here, is impressing.

I do know and believe that the company has been on restructuration for last six months or so forced by the economic turmoil of this last couple years, many companies had been forced to reduce their labor expenses and it finally come down to me, I lost an income of over 75K per year and that is a lot, but I do know that everything will be going to get better.

I had been on worst situation before where I had me wife and two daughters and not a penny to feed them! it might sound unreal but it’s the truth, then nature get’s in the way and helps me out by means of me finding another job, I was able to raise my daughters and get them the life of a normal kid, not luxuries but not misery either,  both of them married and with kids now, my wife and myself on better financial state, I’m able to afford at least a year without the worries of not having an income and that is without cutting or diminishing our life style that not being that of a super star but of a couple happily enjoying life it will be great.

I have been on a masterclass for the last fourteen weeks and it seems that nature had been involved on helping my out again, I have the time to accomplish what it has been hard for lack of time, writing my first eBook following the advice and guidance of John Thornhill I will succeed on this one also as I have succeed in different hardships before, just setting my mind to whatever I always wanted had given me the means to achieve them, to achieve goals and reach for the economic rewards of hard work, and when I say hard work is thinking about how to get my boss place for example.

I started thinking about it and it just happened over course of time I was learning the skills without realizing it and then one day, boom! It hit me, I was to take his job because of illness retirement and because I was capable of taking his responsibilities, planning and scheduling, mentoring about 20 employees that reported directly to me and successfully doing what I was getting paid to do.

After many years and because of the aforementioned hard economic times I was laid off, it’s a strange feeling, I had been working for over 30 years non stop and it sure feels rare being at home when my mind was used to be somewhere else at work not here at home, with that I will leave you, pray for my success as I will which you all the best that there is out there in life, I would like to recommend a free report that talks about being your own boss, you can get it here. As promised, here is my story about how I quit smoking.

First I would like to let you know that this is my personal story, a very bad habit personal story!

Lit me a cigarette! was my mother words several times a day for many, many years when I was a child, since I can make memory I was lighting cigarettes for my mom, now, I do not want to put a guilt or a blame over my mom or anything like that.

It’s just that the culture on my country (Mexico) at that time was very natural that a child lighted a cigarette for their parents or at least it’s what it looked like back then, not enough information about the damage that tobacco causes, so I grew up, yes, smoking!

I do remember when I actually started buying my own cigarette pack every day and smoked like crazy, I was 13 years old and my mom wasn’t able to tell since she was smoking and was used to the smell of nicotine and whenever there was a small hint of question about me smoking I always was able to just say, remember you asked me to lit you a cigarette about 20 minutes ago! how can you expect me not to smell like that? and that was the end of it.

I grew up smoking a pack a day for the next 32 years or so, I got married and for 27 seven years my wife had been asking me to quit, she never give up on me, she always keep that question for me, when are you going to quit? and I always said, one day, didn’t know when but always-said one day.

Smoking at parties and every where, it was just a normal thing for me to do, automatically put my hand on my pocket and just smoke me a cigarette, the grandkids arrived to our life’s and still I keep smoking my daily pack, that’s an average of 7300 cigarettes per year! WOW! What a waste! And that isn’t counting that when on parties usually smokers tend to smoke more that normal.

So my older grandkid Alex Jr. finally was 4 year old, and one day told me why did I smoked, that I should quit it, that it was unhealthy for me, a 4 year old knew that it was bad for me and I at 44 didn’t wanted to know, then my second grandkid Andres (Yes, he was named after me ; ~)) 3 years old at the time started copying me on my smoking, whenever he saw me smoking he would pick up a stick or anything to resemble a cigarette and simulated smoking like I was doing.

My wife never gives up on me, then she got two affiliates (Our grandkids) on her side and they conquered what they wanted. Got me to quit smoking, from one day to another, no cheating, it was hard the very first couple months, didn’t used any product or anything, just cold turkey, one day I told my friends, that’s it, no more smoking for me and that was it.

I have been able to stay smoke free for over a year now, it’s a good feeling.

And if I compiled all the strenght to do it I’m sure that you can do it too, just take it one day at the time.

Alex is 5 year old now and he’s so smart that he realized that I quit smoking, he asked and told me that I don’t STINK! Anymore, yes, when I was smoking I never realized how bad the smell was that I was giving to my relatives, now I do realize that a smoker smell is bothering to non-smokers.

So the lesson here is persistence and desire, my wife had that desire of one day seeing me quitting smoking, then she got some allies (Grandkids) so if you want to do something get some help and never give up on anything or you will fail, if I decided to write about it is cause had been over a year now with out smoking and no, I haven’t saved any more money but it sure feels good! Make a decision and take action.
